THE PROGRAM OF INDUSTRIAL ESTATES AND FREE ZONES

Background 

PIEFZA is developing a major program of Industrial Estates and Free Zones in Palestine. The objective of this program is to promote industry and trade and create additional employment.

Nearly all Industrial Estates and Free Zones lie on the border between Palestine and neighboring countries (Israel, Egypt and Jordan) and aim at enhancing co-existence and promoting the peace process. In addition, they are equipped with world-class infrastructure and support services to facilitate efficient business operations. These services are oriented towards attracting direct foreign investment and joint ventures in export-oriented manufacturing activities. 


The “One Stop Shop” 

PIEFZA offers “One-Stop-Shop” services tailored to each investor’s needs

 PIEFZA is the only institution that investors need to deal with to start up their business. PIEFZA will provide complete information and services, from operating permits, company registration, import and export licenses and work permits, to general information on the investment climate.

Once application forms are submitted, the permitting and registration process will take a period from one to six weeks. PIEFZA is highly value investors’ time. Procedures are clear and simple, and the trained staff extends all possible help to ensure prompt service and complete customer satisfaction.








 


Existing and Future Industrial Estates and Free Zones

Industrial Estates and Free Zones are developed and managed by the private and public sector. They have world-class infrastructure and enjoy all the investment incentives, as well as preferential access and free trade facilitation with regional and international countries. 

Jenin Industrial Estate (JIE): 

JIE is located in a flat plane, north of the city of Jenin, about 1.6 km west of road number 60, a major north-south trunk linking Nazareth with Jenin, Nablus and cities further south. 

The JIE area totals around 113.5 hectares, comprising 68.6 hectares of industrial and commercial plots and 44.9 hectares required for industrial road network, parking spaces, storage and green areas. In addition, an administration and services center will be developed on a 4.4-hectare area along the access road to the estate. The Jenin Industrial Estate is expected to create around 20,000 direct and the same indirect jobs. The feasibility studies and the master plan have been completed and the developer has already started the preliminary land survey. 




Nablus Industrial Estate (NIE) 

Nablus Industrial Estate is located on a strategic road between Tel-Aviv and the Jordan Valley, close to the main Nablus-Jerusalem Highway.

The total area of the site is 123 hectares with future expansion possibilities. It is projected to create around 8,000 direct jobs and 10,000 indirect jobs. The feasibility studies, the master plan, and the land survey have been completed.

PIEFZA is looking for developer for the NIE.


Tarqumia Industrial Estate

Tarqumia Industrial Estate is strategically located to the west of the city of Hebron, near the southern safe passage which connects the West Bank & the Gaza Strip, approximately 35Km from the Gaza. It  is approximately 100 hectares in area (further expansion will be considered) and will include the following:

          Clean Light Industries
   
Semi Clean Industries 

Future Industrial Estates and Free Zones include: Deir El Balah,Qalqilya,Latroun,Jericho
